Game Recap

Wauwatosa West participated in the Whitefish Bay tournament beginning with pool play. West lost in three to Middleton (18-21, 21-19, 8-15), lost in three to Westosha (16-21, 21-17, 9-15), and lost in two to Brookfield East (14-21, 15-21). It was a slow start and West had a hard time sustaining any sort of momentum. West continued on to the first round of the consolation bracket beating Burlington in three (25-18, 16-25, 15-10). West faced a competitive Tremper team in the semi-finals and won in two (25-20, 26-24). Onto the consolation championship match against Nicolet. West came out strong winning 25-16 in game one, but looked like a different team in game two, losing 13-25. The lead exchanged numerous times in game three, but Nicolet put a run together and took the consolation championship with a 15-12 win. Overall, there were times when West showed their true potential as a team, but maintaining a consistent high level of play and intensity will be key in upcoming conference matches against Germantown and Marquette.
